High Pressure if WC is played at home : Kallis

It is a high pressure situation if the World Cup is played at home, said the giant allrounder J Kallis.

The fans will believe that the home team will win. The politicians will make the people believe that the home team will win the Cup. It is a strange, high pressure situation for the players of the home side. When the home side plays, the nationalistic fans will flock to the stadium. The home team my suffer from complacency, sometimes. Whether is is pressure or complacency, the home team will be adversely affected.

We had experienced this in 2003, said Kallis. The Indian team is going through similar circumstances. What the Indian team is experiencing is a hundred times the pressure experienced by us.

It is just another match and no importance should be given to the Ind SA match on Saturday. Our aim is to combat the challenge posed by mighty India. If we were not in Group, I would have been disappointed. Because it is a thrill to play before a packed house !

India will try to give her best before the home crowd and we are aware of this circumstance. Our friend, Gary Kirsten, is Team India's coach. We will be able to tell our inexperienced players the joy of playing before a massive crowd ( 11 out of 15 SA players are devoid of WC experience.
