Ireland win by 3 wickets !
Ireland is fighting back now and it is not a one sided match as everybody thought.
Glorious batting by Kevin O Brien and Cusack and IRE are going great guns now. Ireland are 243/5, with O Brien and Cusack giving spectators their money's worth.
Kevin O Brien has blasted 90 off 42 balls and Cusack 30 off 42 in a glorious century partnership and O Brien's innings can surpass the centuries of Sehwag, Tnedulkar, Kohli and Strauss.
Ireland was written off by many when they were 111/5. Then Cusack joined Kevin and now they are 249/5, a unbeaten partnership of 138.
Cusack has hit a massive six, emulating O Brien. O Brien is now on 97 off 47 balls and Ireland need only 65 off 60 ! O Brien has not hit six sixes and 12 fours !
O Brien has hit the fastest century in 50 balls and now IRE need only 56 off 54 !
Cusack is out and now IRE are 279/6, needing 48 off 40.
Ireland beat England by 3 wickets. England 327/8 and Ireland 329/7 !
Kevin O Brien was eventually out for 113 off 62 balls. Mooney scored 33 off 32 balls and hit a blistering four as the winning run ! England, despite their heroics against India, was defeated by minnows, IRE !
This is Cricket at its best. The game of glorious uncertainties. Most of the spectators went home when IRE was 111/5. I put the TV off, thinking it is a one sided affair. When I put the TV on, IRE was 200/5 and recovering.
If anybody doubts that Cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties, here is proof that it is. You cant tell the result until the last ball is bowled.
He rewrote Cricket History. Kevin O Brien, with a 100 off 50 balls. He got the Man of the Match, deservedly so !
