Canada are delighted, as Pak are 78/4 !

Shehzad, Hafeez, Kamran and Y Khan all went cheap, as Pak plunged to 67/4.

Umar Akmal, the man who scored a hundred on debut and the well experienced Misbah are batting. Now Pak has progressed to 83/4.

Now it is 187/8 ! Afridi is out and so is Razzak.


Now Pak are 181-9 and only one wicket they have. This appears to be a thrilling match. Baidwan has bowled the last man out and Pak are all out for 184.

Canada need only 185 to win. Can they do it ? Can they create an upset like IRE yesterday ? In which event, this World Cup will be the most thrilling WC ever !

We are seeing upsets and it is good to see upsets. It creates more interest in the World Cup and the ODI format. It it is a one sided match, people will switch off TVs and the stadiums will be empty. Yesterday when IRE was 111/5, people began to leave the stadium. Many a viewer put off his TV (including me). Upsets, on the other hand, generate more interest. Stadiums will be full and one billion plus viewers are guaranteed.

Cricket is defined as a game of glorious opportunities and as a game " whose result cannot be predicted till the last ball is bowled". Upsets only prove these statements.
